How To Build Strong Home Care Partnerships That Actually Refer

Apr 25, 2023

It doesn’t matter what business you are in…

One of the fundamentals aspects of all businesses is building relationships. However, the key element in home care is if those relationships actually refer.

Today, we welcome back special guest, Steve “The Hurricane" Weiss from Home Care Evolution, to talk about how to create partnerships that actually send you business.

Are you tired of spending time and effort on so-called partnerships that don't actually refer any business to you? If so, you're not alone. Many professionals struggle with building partnerships that result in referrals. But fear not! There are proven strategies that can help you build strong partnerships that actually refer.

Introducing "Power Partners"

One of the best ways to do this is by creating "power partners." A power partner is someone who knows your company well enough to represent and sell your services. The key here is that it's a two-way street. You also need to know their company well enough to sell their services.

So, how do you create power partners? Steve "The Hurricane", an expert in building strong home care partnerships, suggests five things you can do:

  1. Collaborate on events - host your own networking event with a partner and invite potential referral sources.

  2. Promote their events - even if you're not involved in an event, promote your partner's event to show your support and have a reason to visit referral sources.

  3. Share advertising costs - split costs for advertising, vendor fares, and more to expand your reach and attract more referrals.

  4. Co-market - work with your partner to visit each other's accounts and introduce new potential referral sources.

  5. Refer each other - make referrals to your partner's services and encourage them to do the same for you.

By implementing these strategies, you'll be well on your way to creating power partnerships that result in strong referrals. Continuity of care is another essential catchphrase to keep in mind. By working with partners who are also committed to continuity of care, you'll be able to create an interdisciplinary team that provides seamless care to patients.
