How To Create Videos More Effectively

Jun 30, 2020

Ohhhhh no!!!!! There was supposed to be a video today!! Have you ever had that thought? Or do you just film sporadically when you feel motivated? On today's episode of Digital Champions, I discuss How To Create Videos More Effectively.

Well, it's pretty simple...

Plan. Plan. Plan. Plan.

Yes, planning is key.

There are a few things that I wanna go over that is gonna make it so much easier for you to be more effective and it's all focused on planning your filming.

1. Batch Your Filming

Filming multiple videos at one time is an absolute must for you to be able to create content consistently while saving time. That way you only have to set up your studio once.

This was my ninth video filmed on the day of recording this episode. Now, you don't necessarily have to film nine, but generally, I recommend you do film six to eight, as you can tell, I'm an overachiever, but you wanna make sure that you're batching at least a good amount based on how quickly you can get them out.

Think about it like this, the more time that you spend planning ahead, the more videos you can create, which is gonna save you time later.

This is about working smarter, not harder. So by batching your filming and taking the time to really think about what topics you're going to create and what you're going to say, and then doing it all at one time when everything's set up and you got your makeup on, you got your attire, you got your film studio set up, it's gonna make it a lot easier in the long run.

2. Messaging

When you really strategically think about your video marketing strategy, you want it to correlate well with your audience. What is it that you're saying?

It should not just about create, create, create. Let me just make bunches and bunches of content and then people will be like, "Yeah, I'm gonna buy your stuff because "you provide a lot of value." It can, but if you want to turn more viewers into customers - its all about messaging.

This is why it's so different from what I do with my clients compared to people who are just sporadically making videos. It's really important that you think about strategically, the types of content that you are creating that show your specialization.

If you notice, my videos are very specific to video marketing and social media, that is my specialization. The company's called Digital Champions and guess what? I know a lot about marketing your business online digitally, but I want to be known specifically for social media and video marketing because that is my specialization.

So you wanna be strategic about your content and go deeper into those areas of your specialization so that you become known for those areas. This comes with planning and being strategic about the types of content that you create.

3. F.A.Q.s

The other thing that you can focus on is frequently asked questions (F.A.Q.s). Now, that can also go with what your clients and current customers are asking you.

However, frequently asked questions about what your target audience is asking. So you want to be really smart about how you choose your titles and topics.

This goes into search engine optimization where YouTube is listening to what you're saying, matching it with the titles, the titles matching what people are searching.

Yes, there's a lot more to this than just let me make a video, throw a random title on it. You wanna make sure that when you're planning it out that this is something that somebody is going to search for and that you can then utilize that through your video.

Also, you always want to say the title in the video, so that helps let YouTube know that this is the title and it's clearly stated in the video that they say the title.

There's all of these little things that you can do that come with planning and being more strategic. This makes it so much easier, so much time saved when you take the time to plan it.

Bonus Tip: Plan Around Holidays And Events

One of the things you can also do is plan around specific holidays and events that may be going on in your industry. So one of the times this past year, I had been planning all my videos about when they would release.

So I did it in a strategic fashion that I knew one video would go out at Christmas time, another one would be on New Years.

I created videos that match that theme where I was wearing a Santa hat, where I was dressed up in nice New Year's attire. Spend the extra time and really think about when the videos will be published. Determine hat are the titles going to be.

You're gonna be able to better plan and come up with better content.

Depending on what your industry is, there may be specific events that are going on that you want to plan for.

For example, in the healthcare industry, you know, doing things like Stroke Awareness Month, Alzhemeiers Awareness Month, Nurses Week, etc.

So you know that you're planning it out, that you're gonna do a bunch of topics on stroke awareness that are gonna go to be published during that month.

You can still be topical and current of the things that are going on in the world at that time by planning ahead.

I hope this episode helps. This can be such a game-changer for you.

If you're spending a lot of time where you're just randomly posting videos, you're trying to create content, you want to take some time, plan ahead, work your plan, it makes things so much easier and you're gonna have more effective, better content going forward to really make an impact on your audience.
