Top Recommended Books

As you may know, I am an avid reader - specifically when it comes to Personal Development and Marketing books.

I have compiled a list of my top recommended books as well as the top recommended books from my podcast guests.

My Top 10

I'd like to say that it was much more difficult than I thought to rank my top 10 favorite books. I stand by my 10, but it was a close battle. I expect this will change, so this is my list as of the end of 2020. That being said, this list has a large variety of different authors and styles to find one, or a couple, that are a good fit for you.

1. Atomic Habits By James Clear

I can't help but recommend this book over and over again. I truly believe that if you want to achieve anything in your life then it comes down to your habits.

Atomic habits discusses how to effectively create and implement good habits and simultaneously remove the bad.

One of the things that makes this book so powerful is that you can implement the things discussed immediately for fast action and results.

I have listened to this book at-least 5 times. I expect that I will get to the point where I forget how many times.

2. Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds By David Goggins

This guy is insane - there is no doubt about it. He's build a reputations as "The Hardest Mother F-er There Is." When you listen to his story you can see why.

He pushes his his mind and body to levels I never thought imaginable.

When I was only a few chapter into the book, I was inspired to sign up for my first half-marathon. I think that speaks volumes. (I did a video about on Jan 2019 that goes into more detail about the while I was listening to it. Click Here)

More often, I would recommend audio or physical based on your preference. However, for this one, the audio is a must. There is so much extra after each chapter that is so worth it. You won't be disappointed.

3. The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment By Eckhart Tolle

It's going to take an open mind for this one, but there is no time like the present.  One of the core foundations of this book that continues to resonate with me is that there is only joy in the now.

Worry and fear are only emotions associated with the past or the future.

If you are on of those people who continuously finds themselves thinking about things they did in their past or worry about the future - this book is for you.

It will open your eyes to how you see time and your relationship with time.

4. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life By Mark Manson

One thing is for sure, Mark Manson does not pull back any of his punches.

This book will always have a special place in my life. It was so powerful and can truly change how you think.

It is one thing to be inspired or to learn about habits, but a book that can change how you think can change the course of your life.

After reading it, I recommended it to my brother. It was truly remarkable to witness the impact a book can make on someone. I am so proud to see the growth he has made over the last few years and he hasn't stopped. When I look back, this was a big part of where it all began.

5. Built from Scratch: How a Couple of Regular Guys Grew The Home Depot from Nothing to $30 Billion

The dimond in the rough. This is one of those books that hasn't hit the top charts or one that you hear repeated over and over again. Honestly, I'll be shocked if you have even heard of it, but it's pure gold.

It tells the story of Home Depot from idea to the massive enterprise it is today. It is fascinating! You may think the main theme of this book is about building a business, but it is really about building relationships.

These guys put their customers and people above all else and after reading - I don't go anywhere else for my home improvement needs (haha).

It is a heartfelt story with lots of laughs along the way and I highly recommend it!

6. The Alchemist: A Fable About Following Your Dream By Paulo Coelho

“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” On multiple occasions, I have witnessed the universe working in mysteries ways to get me the things I want. Achieved things that at times seemed like it would only be a dream.

I am proof, that when you really want something - truly deep in your soul, you will find what you seek, but keep in mind that it may not come the way you expected.

The Alchemist shares the journey of man on a quest to follow his dreams. It is an absolute classic and a really quick read. No matter what walk of life you are in, if you haven't read this yet, add it to your cart right now!

7. High Performance Habits: How Extraordinary People Become That Way By Brendan Burchard

I have had the privilege of seeing Brendan speak on more than one occasion. He has been someone I aspire to be like for years. I listened to this book for the first time a few years ago and till this day, I still use the tactics he teaches.

This is another one of those books that I have listened to 5 plus times and I know it will not be the last.

8. The Success Principles: How to Get From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be By Jack Canfield

The book that has everything. After reading this book (yes reading), I felt like it should be a required book for all entrepreneurs.

It truly breaks down all of the fundamental aspects to thrive in business and life.

9. You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life By Jen Sincero

Truth be told, this was not on my original top 10 list. As I got down to choosing the final few it just kept coming back up for me.

Maybe it's because she is just so real that it resonated with me so much. Maybe it's because I remember laughing so much during it.

This was the first book I ever read that often spoke about being a women. Seeing how I am not, only speaks more about how much I truly enjoyed and valued her story telling and approach to life.

10. Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not! By Robert Kiyosaki

I have come to realize that many people do not have a great relationship with money. Lack of it often creates excuses of why we cannot achieve something. That is what they are - just excuses.

This book has so many gems that will have you looking like that emoji with it's head exploding. So many gems and powerful concepts of what separates the rich from the poor. Why the rich get richer and poor stay poor.
